Shoppy (https://shoppyit.com) is the first solution presented by NOVOBYTE CAMEROON for public consumption. Referred to as a product search engine, probably the first in Cameroon you’ll come across.

Imagine you find yourself in a situation where you want to buy an item or product and you have no clue about where to get it. Could be a specific type of shoe with a specific shoe size, color etc, a specific dress, a specific kitchen/home equipment, spare parts for your automobile, a medical drug, an electronic device or spare part, a construction material, a specific type of bread or cake from a bakery, woodwork from a carpentry shop, infact anything you can think of buying. Better still a situation where you want to buy an item but the closest shop you know is far away and/or very expensive and you wish to know if any closer shop around you sells the same product at an even better price and to compare the specifications of the different products.

In a real-life scenario, you had to do this while walking from shop to shop to inquire or to make phone calls from number to number.

So, imagine a situation where you have a platform where you can from go through all the products registered in shops around you at your convenience. It will just be similar to physically working from shop to shop and looking at all the products they sell with the only difference being the fact that you are on your smart device and totally independent.

Let’s talk a little more about shoppy

Shoppy (which can be referred to as a product search and an e-commerce platform simultaneously) can be considered as a DIGITAL LARGESCALE MARKET probably covering the whole national territory, which puts together shop owners and the public (the term shop which generally refers to all business sites. Could extend to bakeries, pharmacies, carpentry shops, or any other physical geostatic location where the commercial activity of buying and selling takes place).

Verified Shop owners register their shop and then host products on the shop. By so doing, they expand visibility of their shops and their products to the public. Basic users can thereafter search products sorting them by name, price, shop, shop distance to their current position, category (while noting that we are launching shoppy with 240 distinct categories and with intentions of further expanding our categories) and many other parameters.

Users can as well compare products of different shops, share products or shops on social media, like products (Wishlist) , view full detailed product information and shop information, add products to cart, order products (and the shop owner confirms its availability) and carry out many other operations .

a)       For shop owners: It is a great marketing tool for shop owners to show case their items at little or no expenditure, it helps the shop owner know his/her direct competitors and the products they offer to help/her improve on the benefit by optimizing the products, their characteristics and prices.

b)      For basic users: The ease of searching products meters and kilometers away from you without having  to move, the ease of ordering these products and collecting them, the comfort one gets having the possibility to search whatsoever, wherever and however and the simplicity which accompanies this.
